Resetting Password with Aris Water

Password Length and Complexity

All passwords must meet the following requirements:

     •   Minimum Length: 12 characters (Do not include your name)
     •   Complexity Requirements:
     •   At least 1 uppercase letter (A–Z)
     •   At least 1 lowercase letter (a–z)
     •   At least 1 numeric character (0–9)
     •   At least 1 special character (!, @, #, $, etc.)
     •   Must not contain spaces or tabs.

Password Expiration

     •   Passwords must be changed every 90 days.
     •   Users will receive a notification starting 10 days before the expiration.

Password History

     •   Users cannot reuse any of their previous 6 passwords.

Account Lockout

     •   Accounts will be locked after 5 failed login attempts. The account will remain locked for 15 minutes or until unlocked by an administrator.

Procedures

Creating a New Password

     1.   Upon system access or when prompted, go to the password creation field. (CTRL + ALT + DLT) or My Sign-Ins
     2.   Enter a password that meets the complexity requirements listed in Section [Password Length and Complexity ].
     3.   Confirm the password by re-entering it in the confirmation field.
     4.   Ensure that the new password does not resemble the previous 6 passwords.
     5.   Click “Save” or “Submit” to finalize the change.

Password Reset

     1.   If you forget your password or need to reset it, navigate to the “Forgot Password” option on the login screen. (Ctrl + Alt + Dlt) or My Sign-Ins
     2.   Create a new password following the complexity requirements.

Password Changes (Routine)

     1.   You will receive a notification reminding you to change your password when it is nearing expiration.

Enforcement and Non-Compliance

     •   Failure to comply with the password requirements may result in restricted access to systems or disciplinary action.
     •   Any deliberate circumvention of this policy, such as sharing passwords, may result in termination of employment.
